RULES FOR LOCAL RACES
A: Rules for Equipment
Cyclists must wear a neat and tidy uniform.
Cyclists must wear cycling pants in a race.
Cyclists must wear team’s uniform if belonging to one of the clubs.
Cyclists must wear a hard helmet in a race for safety.
Club’s logo must be fixed on the racing jersey.
Cyclists must have the numbering cloth in a race.
Cyclists must use their own assigned race number.
The numbering cloth must be fixed at the lower back of the racing jersey.
The racing jersey must NOT contain the UCI rainbow colors and layout.
Cyclists must ride a standardized bike for racing.
Cyclists must ride a racing bike or up to the standard of the organizing committee.
B. Rules for Participation
Entries must be put 6 days prior to the race (Monday before midnight), late entries are possible but extra handling fees will be charged. Also the on-spot or late entry may not be accepted if the total no. of participants is more than the quota after the deadline.
Withdrawal must be announced 2 days (Friday before 13:00) prior to the race, telephone notification is acceptable.
For those succeeded to withdraw are no needs to pay a fine but entry fees.
On-spot withdrawal must be made personally report to the sign on counter.
Fine must be paid before entering to the next race for unreasonable absentees.
Late comers must follow the set schedule.
Cyclists must wear the numbering cloth in a race.
Cyclists must report to the commander 30 minutes before the race started.
All the rules are executed according to the latest rules of UCI as well as the rules of Hong Kong Transportation, all cyclists must comply with.
GUIDANCE FOR RACE CANCELLATION
Situation 1. : 30 minutes prior to the gathering in Wanchai, the Hong Kong Observatory still hanging the red rainstorm, black rainstorm, typhoon single no. 3 or above.
Stituation2. The race will be cancelled under the situation that the thunderstorm warning announced by the Hong Kong Observatory will be being in force 1 hour after the official race start time .
(e.g. The race start time is 7:00 a.m. and the Hong Kong Observatory announced the thunderstorm warning will be being in force until 8:00 a.m., the race will then be cancelled.)
* Please note that, Race / Event will be cancelled under situation 1 or 2. Should you have any queries, please feel free to contact the HKCA staff at 9145 3751.
Racing Insurance
All members who want to take part in our race should pay the insurance fee. The insurance fee is HK$80 for every race season. Insurance covers the medical expenses. Other covered items are as follows:
Personal Accident :
Death or total permanent disablement. HK$100,000.00
Permanent and Incurable Paralysis of all Limbs HK$100,000.00
Permanent Total Loss of Sight and Eye HK$100,000.00
Permanent Total Loss of Sight of one Eye HK$100,000.00
Loss of or the Permanent Total Loss of use of two Limbs HK$100,000.00
Loss of or the Permanent Total Loss of use of one Limb HK$100,000.00
Permanent and Incurable Insanity HK$100,000.00
Permanent Total Loss of Hearing in
(a) Both Ear HK$75,000.00
(b) One Ear HK$15,000.00
